Point System Overview

Runners are awarded with points for each race.  Each race has a point available by participating in the theme, unless otherwise noted. All races have points available by placing overall and within an age group.  The points system is based heavily on participation (donations) so be sure to max out donations to give you the best shot to win!

Prizes

- Top 2013 points earner will win a vacation getaway!  (Details TBD)

- Top 10 points earners will receive prizes (Details TBD)

- Winners must be present at 2013 Lights in Parkway 5K awards ceremony to be eligible for prizes (winners will be contacted in advance)

 

Overall Points (based on top 10% of participants)

- Overall top male/female runner will receive 2 points

- Top 10% of finishers both male/female will receive 1 point

Plus…

Age Group Points

- First place finish = 3 points

- Second place finish = 2 points

- Third place finish = 1 point

(Age groups are 19 and under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60+)

End of season ties will be broken by # of races participated in, age group place (i.e. # of first places in age group, # of seconds, etc), & a coin flip

Fast and Flurry-ous 5K – 1 point for each school supply up to ten

4.5 Miles of March Madness – 1 point for each non-perishable food item up to ten

Pump and run – 2 points for most bench press reps in each age group

A 7-miler at 7 PM - 1 point for each school supply donated (up to ten)

Zombie -(no series points for placing, but donation points available) 1 point for each “comfort kit”  item up to ten.  We are working together with the Red Cross young professional group Club Red for this event.  Suggestions for donations include: toothbrush, toothpaste, toothbrush caps, deodorant, shaving cream, shampoo, body lotion, tissue packets, disposable razors, bars of soap, washcloth, combs and for the children’s kits, small toys.  These kits are used to help families that are displaced during emergencies

Run Like Hell 6K- 2 points for wearing a costume, 5 points for winning costume category (scariest, funniest, most original, multi-person)

Emmaus Fall Classic (decision on event pending) - 2 points per coat/blanket donation, up to ten points

Lights in the Parkway – No Points awarded for race – This is a Toys for Tots event!

*Points, age groups and prizes are subject to change. Additional races may be added. Must be at least 18 years of age to win vacation.
